Membership

In 1999, a core group of NGOs supported by USAID, became involved in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support activities. These NGOs formed the NGO Coordinating Committee, now registered as the National Coordinating Coalition Inc. (NCC) and had responsibility for oversight and coordination as well as monitoring project results. Of recent, the NCC has adopted a more multi-sectoral approach beyond HIV/AIDS, and its membership, with reach across all ten administrative regions, are among longstanding NGOs in Guyana that support several marginalized groups addressing a plethora of social issues including at- risk youth and communities, health and wellness, crime and violence, educational development, human rights and environmental protection.
